Melbourne’s Official Liaison to the Torres Strait

Australian Education Society holds a formal 10-year mandate from the Torres Strait Island Regional Council to deliver education, community programs, and cultural connection for Torres Strait Islander communities in Victoria.

Our Programs

Education & Training

Through Mercury Institute of Victoria (RTO 41264), AES delivers accredited vocational training to Torres Strait Islander communities. Management, leadership, hospitality, and community services qualifications — delivered hybrid, face-to-face and online.

Community Programs

Regular cultural gatherings, community forums, and support programs connecting Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria to their community, their culture, and the services available to them.

Community Development

Working with TSIRC and community partners to support long-term economic development, housing, and infrastructure outcomes for Torres Strait communities. Programs in development — more to be announced.

TSIRC Endorsement

AES has been formally appointed as the official Melbourne Liaison Office for the Torres Strait Island Regional Council — with a 10-year mandate to support education, cultural exchange, and community development programs.
